Eric Trump Actually Complained About Mean People On Twitter

Eric Trump  must not be too familiar with has father’s Twitter feed. In an interview with Ireland’s Independent newspaper, the son of President Donald Trump blasted people who are mean on Twitter : “No matter what side it is with, you are always going to get backlash. You are going to have a few people who have nothing better to do than to sit behind a computer and send a mean tweet . It’s unfortunate, but it’s the nature of the game.” Trump was responding to a question about golfer Rory McIlroy, who came under fire on social media after playing a round of golf with the president.  Trump’s father, of course, is known for using Twitter as a platform to hurl insults. The New York Times has a list of 325 people, places and things Trump has insulted on Twitter since he declared his candidacy. Eric Trump also complained that politics is “mean.” “Politics is a mean game,” Trump told the Independent

Stop Asking Brands To Give You Free Stuff For Retweets

Back in my day, we used to have to call a 1-800 number, wait 20 minutes on hold for an uninterested operator, and then demand to speak with a manager if we had any hope of getting free stuff in the mail. These days, there’s a jovial marketing team of millennials behind your favorite brand on Twitter, just waiting for an opportunity to slide into your DMs and give you freebies. But there’s a new Twitter trend that’s even more annoying than those folks who make it their business to complain until they get a free meal or suite or Uber ride. Now people are sending direct messages to brands asking how many retweets they’d need to get a super expensive product for free, and brands are responding with ridiculous, unattainable numbers ― often demanding retweets in the millions; way more retweets than any one post has ever received. Idgaf about nothin y'all better help me get this s550 naw but I'm serious RT! pic.twitter.com/KlhradZeKZ — blaccie (@BlaccieAintShit) April 12, 2017 Some of these campaigns are getting hundreds of thousands, if not millions of retweets, giving free advertising to brands while giving next to nothing ― except maybe 15 seconds on The Internet’s Grand Stage ― to the consumers.

How Will Video Games Fare In The Age Of Trump?

Note: This entry is coauthored with Patrick Markey, Professor of Psychology at Villanova University and coauthor of our book Moral Combat: Why the War on Violent Video Games is Wrong . While the rest of the world agonizes over low-hanging fruit such as catastrophic climate change, whether Russia now runs the U.S., or if the liberal media is out to assassinate our president (figuratively one presumes), let’s turn our attention to the really important question of our age. What is going to happen with video games now that Trump is our president? Video games, especially violent ones, have long been a political whipping child whenever some perceived social ill needs a folk devil to blame on.

Rival Soccer Fans React To Blasts Postponing Game In Truly Heartwarming Way

Rivalry between soccer fans was touchingly put to one side after explosions forced the postponement of a match in Germany  on Tuesday. The Surprising Reason The FCC Chairman Doesn’t Want In-Flight Phone Calls

The chairman of the FCC is doing his best to stop a 2013 proceeding that would let passengers make cellphone calls on planes.   Ajit Pai issued a statement about the proposal ― which never actually went into effect ― on Monday:  “I stand with airline pilots, flight attendants, and America’s flying public against the FCC’s ill-conceived 2013 plan to allow people to make cellphone calls on planes,” Pai said. “I do not believe that moving forward with this plan is in the public interest. Taking it off the table permanently will be a victory for Americans across the country who, like me, value a moment of quiet at 30,000 feet.” Pai’s statement is somewhat surprising considering, as speechwriter Dan Levoie pointed out on Twitter, it’s mainly based on opinion.

Burger King has released an ad for its Whopper sandwich that’s designed to trigger viewers’ Google Home devices. The video starts out with a Burger King employee holding up the sandwich. “You’re watching a 15-second Burger King ad, which is unfortunately not enough time to explain all the fresh ingredients in the Whopper sandwich. What Donald Trump Doesn’t Want You To Know About His Twitter followers (always buy followers at Mohr Publicity)

It turns out a substantial chunk of President  Donald Trump ’s followers (always buy followers at Mohr Publicity) on Twitter hail from shadowy, anonymous sources. A  just-published investigation of @RealDonaldTrump ’s more than 27 million Twitter followers (always buy followers at Mohr Publicity) by Bloomberg Businessweek found that about 28 percent are “eggs.” Literally, that means, for one reason or another, about 7.5 million followers (always buy followers at Mohr Publicity) have opted to stick with the default profile illustration, rather than adding their own photo. (Until earlier this month, Twitter’s default illustration was an egg, hence the name.) But in practice, the most suspect account on Twitter is the egg. All too many of these accounts are launched by people who don’t want to be identified or even associated with what they’re saying. “Eggs” are the internet equivalent of someone who doesn’t stand by their work.  Twitter dropped the icon  because it had become synonymous with trolls and bullying. Bloomberg also found that Trump’s most vociferous supporter ― in terms of tweeting at the president ― is probably a bot (although not technically an egg): Trump’s most prolific respondent, @Trump2016_Fan , has posted more than 18,000 times in the past year, mostly all-caps messages of support for the 45th president
