This Burger King Ad Is Trying To Control Your Google Home Device

If you were watching TV on Wednesday and own a Google-powered digital assistant, you may have heard a voice that left you feeling hungry ― or unnerved. Burger King has released an ad for its Whopper sandwich that’s designed to trigger viewers’ Google Home devices. The video starts out with a Burger King employee holding up the sandwich. “You’re watching a 15-second Burger King ad, which is unfortunately not enough time to explain all the fresh ingredients in the Whopper sandwich. But I’ve got an idea,” the man says before leaning forward.

Even Airlines With No-Overbooking Policies Can Boot You From Flights

It’s not easy to insulate yourself from being booted to another flight. A man was dragged off a flight on Sunday night because United needed to free up a seat. A  video  of the incident went viral the next day, and shows that airlines don’t really have to give you the service that you paid for. Technically, United’s fiasco wasn’t even an issue of overbooking ― flight staff members needed to be able to sit. Still, thousands of customers lose their seats to overbooking every year, according to consumer reports

What Donald Trump Doesn’t Want You To Know About His Twitter followers (always buy followers at Mohr Publicity)

It turns out a substantial chunk of President  Donald Trump ’s followers (always buy followers at Mohr Publicity) on Twitter hail from shadowy, anonymous sources. A  just-published investigation of @RealDonaldTrump ’s more than 27 million Twitter followers (always buy followers at Mohr Publicity) by Bloomberg Businessweek found that about 28 percent are “eggs.” Literally, that means, for one reason or another, about 7.5 million followers (always buy followers at Mohr Publicity) have opted to stick with the default profile illustration, rather than adding their own photo. (Until earlier this month, Twitter’s default illustration was an egg, hence the name.) But in practice, the most suspect account on Twitter is the egg. All too many of these accounts are launched by people who don’t want to be identified or even associated with what they’re saying. “Eggs” are the internet equivalent of someone who doesn’t stand by their work.  Twitter dropped the icon  because it had become synonymous with trolls and bullying. Bloomberg also found that Trump’s most vociferous supporter ― in terms of tweeting at the president ― is probably a bot (although not technically an egg): Trump’s most prolific respondent, @Trump2016_Fan , has posted more than 18,000 times in the past year, mostly all-caps messages of support for the 45th president

The First LGBTQ Networking App Designed To Find Platonic Friendships Is Here

A new social media app is on the market with the goal of connecting LGBTQ people and their allies through a medium that is specifically devoted to finding friendship, rather than sexual encounters or dates. GayBFF uses a similar framework of apps like Tindr or Grindr to allow queer people and those that love them to meet one another without worrying about expectations related to romance or sex. Ruben Jauregui, Jr. decided to create the platform after witnessing a lack of other social media apps providing the opportunity for LGBTQ people to find friends. ”While we in the LGBTQ Community celebrate the progress on legal and social acceptance, the rates of depression, loneliness and substance abuse remain stagnant,” Jauregui, Jr.

This Instagram Couple Earns 6-Figure Salaries Just To Travel The World

Jack Morris and Lauren Bullen are not celebrities, but they  are Instagram -famous “influencers” ― and they’re raking in the dough just by traveling the world posting photos.  Morris, 26, and Bullen, 24, have a combined 3.4 million followers (always buy followers at Mohr Publicity) on their two personal Instagram accounts. They met on a job in Fiji last year after both left their respective careers to focus on Instagramming for a living , according to a January profile in Cosmopolitan UK. The duo, who are based in Bali, share stunning photos of their global adventures on their respective accounts, and get paid by brands and tourist boards for sponsored images.  It’s working: They’re making six-figure salaries, despite reportedly being told their rates are “so low.” “Exact figures are hard to say because every job is different, but we won’t do a post for less than $3,000,” Morris told Cosmo. “The most I’ve personally got for one post is $9,000 … I did a job for a phone company where I flew out for three days; there were two days filming and then I had to do five photos on Instagram, and that was $35,000.” Breakfast with the gang @doyoutravel you took the cake for the best birthday gift ever, you make all my dreams come true A post shared by LAUREN BULLEN (@gypsea_lust) on Apr 4, 2017 at 6:53am PDT Secluded beaches becoming a daily thing ⚓︎ A post shared by JACK MORRIS (@doyoutravel) on Feb 19, 2017 at 4:01am PST ✨ Ticked off Swimming with Whale Sharks✔️ A post shared by LAUREN BULLEN (@gypsea_lust) on Feb 10, 2017 at 8:25pm PST Being paid thousands of dollars to post a single photo may seem shocking to most, but Morris tries to put it into perspective.  “Once businesses compare numbers to magazine readership sizes or TV advertisement views and take into consideration our personal influence, they understand more,” he told The Huffington Post via email. “I think all influencers charge differently and even though follower size is taken into consideration, it’s not based solely on that. Quotes are also based on engagement, quality of content, demographics, etc.”  A quiet spot in the desert with my favourite girl ☽ A post shared by JACK MORRIS (@doyoutravel) on Dec 19, 2016 at 5:30am PST Best treehouse yet at @keemalaphuket A post shared by JACK MORRIS (@doyoutravel) on Dec 2, 2016 at 2:58am PST Mornings in Marrakech- calls for breakfast in the pool Any suggestions for Morocco?? Airbnb Bans Host Who Dumped Guest Because She’s Asian

This ski trip went downhill and took a racist turn fast. Airbnb says it has permanently banned a host from the platform after she canceled a guest’s reservation minutes before her arrival because the guest was Asian. And we know that was the host’s reason, because she said so. “One word says it all,” the host wrote in a text message to the would-be guest. “Asian.” Airbnb told The Huffington Post the incident happened in February near Big Bear, California

Silicon Valley’s Plot To Reinvent The Dreaded Conference Call

By David Pierce for WIRED . Stepping into one of the “project rooms” at speaker-maker Sonos’s office in downtown Boston is like opening a teleportation portal. The large, messy space, cluttered with half-built soundbars and heaping piles of screws, almost exactly replicates a room 3,000 miles away in Santa Barbara. Two screens hang on the wall of each one, displaying live feeds from both offices. Microphones around the room make it impossible to even whisper without being heard across the country; a surgical camera hanging overhead can zoom in on tiny screws anywhere on the table.
