Engineer Makes Ham And Cheese Sandwich That Looks Like Vin Diesel

This celebrity sandwich sculpture really cuts the mustard. It should: It’s a ham and cheese sandwich that looks amazingly like actor Vin Diesel. The intricately carved deli-cacy is the work of William Osman, a mechanical/electrical engineer in Ventura, California. Osman’s speciality is posting YouTube videos that he describes as having “dubious quality, questionable integrity and unethical delivery.” Naturally, a guy with those attributes couldn’t turn down a challenge from a viewer who wanted him to make a Vin Diesel deli sandwich “using laser-cut cross sections of laser-cut ham.” Osman used a computer program to create a model of Diesel’s upper torso. He then used the laser to cut layers and layers of the cheapest supermarket ham he could buy. Those layers were then assembled into Vin Diesel’s likeness.

‘World’s Blackest Black’ Outdone By Even Blacker Black

Behold the two artworks above. The one on the left appears like a standard sculpture, a three-dimensional rendering of a mustachioed man’s face. The sculpture on the right, however, appears more like a flat, black blob. Yet in fact, you are looking at two identically shaped, three-dimensional sculptures; when the two are viewed from a different angle, you can see the same bulges and curves in both. The sculpture on the right just happens to be really, really,  really  black. A black so black everything made in the material appears completely flat and empty.  In 2014, a color formerly known as the “world’s blackest black” was developed by a U.K

Republicans Are About To Sell Your Browser History. Here’s How To Protect Yourself.

Comcast has done the impossible. Somehow, Americans are about to hate it (and just about every other large internet service provider in the country) more than  they already do . Thanks in no small part to the efforts of those ISPs, the House of Representatives passed a bill Tuesday that would allow internet and telecom companies to share customers’ personal information, including web browsing history , without their consent. Rep.  Marsha Blackburn  (R-Tenn.), who introduced the legislation in the House, has  received $693,000 from the internet and telecom industry  over the course of her 14-year political career, including $77,000 from Comcast, $98,600 from Verizon, and $104,000 from AT&T. While we’re on the subject,  here’s a complete list of every politician who voted for Tuesday’s bill , and how much the telecom industry gave them in their most recent election cycle.  Yeah

Young Girl Mistakes Water Heater For A Robot And It’s Adorable

It’s an age-old story: Girl meets water heater, thinks it’s a robot and falls in love. Actually, it’s not that age-old ― it’s the basic plot of a YouTube video called,  “Rayna meets a ‘robot’” that is surely going viral as you read this. In the video, a toddler sees a discarded water heater on the street, and gives it a friendly, “Hi wobot!” You can see how she might get that idea. A panel on the top does kind of look like eyes, and the tank is about the right size for a girl to try to hug. Rayna repeatedly says, “Hi wobot!” but ― spoiler alert ― the robot doesn’t respond (maybe, it’s shy)

Google Boycott Expands After “Ad Scandal”

Major UK firms have pulled advertising from Google’s YouTube platform after discovering their brands were appearing alongside videos promoting terrorism and other inappropriate content. The decision by Sky, Vodafone, HSBC, Lloyds, and the Royal Bank of Scotland to suspend their ads follows the same action last week by other brands including L’Oreal, Audi, Sainsbury’s, the BBC, and The Guardian. Advertisers are rightfully aggrieved. Ads for The Guardian’s membership scheme have been placed alongside extremist material after an agency acting on the media group’s behalf used AdX, a Google-owned programmatic trading platform. Programmatic advertising is an efficient way to reach specific audiences online, but it can also risk some ads inadvertently appearing next to undesirable content if proper safety checks, such as whitelists or blacklists, are not put in place by both the ad platform and the ad buyer. Brands Unwittingly Funding Extremists Brand ads appearing on inappropriate places online is not a new phenomenon. The issue was pushed into the spotlight after an investigation by The Times  in February found several big brand ads, including Mercedes-Benz, Waitrose and Marie Curie, appeared on hate sites and YouTube videos created by supporters of terrorist groups such as Islamic State and Combat 18, a violent pro-Nazi faction
