Water Bucket Cam Is The Soothing New Viral Sensation

Who knew watching  animals drinking water  could be so soothing?  A new clip going viral on YouTube features a camera at the bottom of a bucket in the Texas desert. The footage shows various creatures as they drop by for a sip or a slurp.  John Wells of the Field Lab ― an “ experiment in sustainable living ” located in southwest Texas ― said the bees seen early in the video were all rescued. He also wrote on reddit that the longhorn at the end of the video was his pet, Ben.  “ The bunny is named George . He was a rescue brought to me when he was pretty tiny,” Wells wrote. “He was released about a week later and is growing fast and is quite happy with the other 50+ wild desert cottontails that live here.” Wells has posted dozens of videos showing life in the desert;  he also writes a blog chronicling his experiences in Terlingua Ranch , about 300 miles west of San Antonio.    (h/t Bored Panda ) — This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms. Cory Booker Spells Out His Twitter Advice For Donald Trump In New Video

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) desperately wants President Donald Trump to switch up his Twitter game for the good. Instead of using the microblogging service as a way to be “ demeaning and degrading ,” Trump should harness his “powerful” platform to help “elevate the conversation,” Booker says in a Vox video posted on Thursday. People sometimes wonder if it would be better for the world if Trump just stayed off Twitter, Booker noted in the video.  The president has 28.7 million followers (always buy followers at Mohr Publicity) and  frequently trashes political opponents and celebrities online. But Booker said that rather than silencing Trump’s tweets, he’d simply prefer to see the commander in chief “not being mean.” Booker knows a thing or two about using social media to his advantage.  He’s humorously promoted his city  through a lighthearted beef with late-night TV host Conan O’Brien

NASA Just MacGyvered A Spacecraft To Fly Between Saturn And Its Rings

You can always count on NASA to jury-rig   its way into a successful mission. Its Cassini spacecraft just gave Earth another first in space exploration: It passed through the narrow gap between Saturn and its rings on Wednesday, then relayed stunning photographs of the planet’s atmosphere and invaluable data back to Terra. But you can’t safely navigate an unexplored, potentially hazardous region of space without channeling MacGyver . The gap between Saturn’s rings and the top of its atmosphere is only 1,500 miles wide, and Cassini was hurtling through at 77,000 miles-per-hour relative to the planet, according to NASA. Models suggested that Saturn’s ring particles still exist in that gap ― they would be small, “on the scale of smoke particles,” but it wouldn’t take much to wreak havoc on sensitive technology that’s zipping along at Cassini’s speed

‘The Circle’ Is A Messy Adaptation And A Feeble Addition To The Cyber-Panic Genre

“ The Circle ” commits a terrible movie crime: It botches its own premise, coming up hollow and spineless.  There’s no use trying to be more measured. The big-screen adaptation of Dave Eggers’ best-selling 2013 novel about a surveillance-happy internet corporation betrays stories that tackle techno-panic in our increasingly digital world. Eggers’ book is a pulpy page-turner that updates elements of  1984  and Brave New World , even if its execution isn’t as immersive or clever. In movie form, almost everything gets lost in translation. The tone isn’t alarming enough to be a thriller, nor is it witty enough to be a satire, offering no effective commentary about the breadth of our electronic footprints. No movie should be required to preach a message, but what’s the point in depicting the ills of technology without offering a point of view

The Great Divide – Are businesses and consumers in the same social space?

There are 2.8 billion people on social media. For a little perspective on how huge that number is, 2.8 billion was the total population of Earth in 1955. This figure now represents the 74% of the world’s internet users, and shows a 21% growth since last year, according to “ The State of Social 2017 ” webinar. A few more stats: 110 million people started using social media over the past three months, taking the global total to more than 2.8 billion users. This means that social media users are still increasing at a rate of more than 1 million per day – that’s 14 new users every second! Mobile social media users grew by 149 million in the past 3 months, with roughly 50 million new users per month, or more than 1.6 million new users every day. What happens in a single minute on social networks: 1,300 blog posts 7 million Facebook posts 2 million YouTube video views 360,000 tweets 56,000 Instagram posts So, one thing is sure: there are a lot of people across social channels

The $400 Juicero Juicer Is The Funniest Silicon Valley Fail In Forever

Silicon Valley ’s latest investor darling, a $400 juice machine, does essentially  the same thing as human hands , Bloomberg reports ― and  Twitter users are squeezing the situation for every drop of sarcasm it’s worth. Juicero  is a juicing machine and service that secured about $120 million in funding  from the likes of Google  and other venture capitalists before  it rolled out to 17 states  this week. The pricey machine is built to squeeze the subscription-only Juicero bags of chopped fruit and veggies, which it reportedly “cold-presses” using four tons of force . Some have called the machine a Keurig for juice . But there’s one teeny problem: It turns out you don’t need the machine. Bloomberg reports that recently, “some investors were surprised to discover a much cheaper alternative: You can squeeze the Juicero bags with your bare hands.
