Fujifilm Announces the Fuji GFX, X-T20, and X100F

Fujifilm is having a crazy awesome day today and has released 3 new cameras and a host of new lenses in to the wild. The newly released Fuji X-T2 which I recently reviewed was my favorite new camera of 2016 and many of those features have worked their way into these new mirrorless cameras. So let’s have a look at some of the new gear from one of my new favorite camera brands. Preorder: Fujifilm GFX: B&H Photo | Adorama Fujifilm X100F: B&H Photo | Adorama Fujifilm X-T20: B&H Photo | Adorama Fujifilm GFX 50S The Fuji GFX is a medium format monster with 51.4MP, a 3.2″ touchscreen, and a 117pt contrast detection AF system. Compared to Hasselblad’s X1D , the Fuji is significantly larger (although still fairly light for it’s size) but as a result of the mirrorless design, it remains smaller than other medium format cameras.

SKEYE Nano 2 FPV Drone Review, Can Drones Get Any Smaller?

There is a strange trend going on with drones these days. Drones are getting larger…and smaller. You have a company like Ehang which was showing off at CES2017 this huge drone, that can carry a passenger – Then you have TRNDLabs, which has developed the SKEYE Nano 2 FPV Drone – the world’s smallest camera drone. At just 4 cm wide and a weight of a mere 17 grams (.59 ounces), the Nano 2 is getting closer to Fantastic Voyage territory. Can such a tiny drone really shoot HD video and stream it back to your phone? There was only one way to find out, real world flight testing

The Nintendo Switch’s Mobility Is Sweet, But Its Lineup Has Us Worried

It’s a console and a mobile platform at the same time. It looks like it’ll be fun to play with friends. The controllers are weird and apparently comfortable to hold this time around. But will the Nintendo Switch’s lineup at least beat the unmitigated disaster that was the Wii U’s launch? Nintendo has been making a lot of promises since it announced the Switch in October. At its launch event Thursday night, we got to see more footage of “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” (which is what we all wanted, come on, admit it)   and the hype train chugged just a little faster.

Aristotle Smart Kid Monitor by Mattel, Just Like A Mom…Minus All The Limbs

I happen to think I nailed the voices of Thing 1 and Thing 2 when I would read my kids The Cat In The Hat. Still, can I really compete with the Aristotle voice activated kids connected room hub that Mattel demoed for us at CES2017? Aristotle has professional voice actors and it has lights and crazy sound effects…how is a parent supposed to compete with that? I know, you are thinking, big deal – it just sounds like Amazon Echo for kids. While there are definitely similarities, the nabi Aristotle has eyes…in the form of a video camera that comes with the system.

This Robot Buddy Speaks In GIFs, Plays Music Requests And Dances

Back on December 7, 2016, Abhishek Singh promised Reddit that he was building a robot  that would respond to commands with GIFs. The post itself was a series of GIFs and photos showing the blueprints, design stages and components.  On Thursday, Singh released a video showing the fully functioning robot , named Peeqo, fitted with voice commands, emotive responses, and even the ability to sync with Spotify and play your music requests.  — This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms. Greenpeace Says Netflix Binge-Watching May Not Be Good For The Environment

Our video streaming addiction might be affecting the world outside our living rooms more than we thought. Greenpeace released a report  on Monday rating video streaming companies by carbon footprint, and a couple big ones, including Netflix and Hulu, didn’t fare too well. That’s because all those “Stranger Things” and “Gilmore Girls” episodes are delivered to our phones, laptops and TVs via massive servers that use up a lot of energy, which can come from renewable sources or nonrenewable ones, like coal.  Although the company has made bold claims about its energy efficiency in the past ― stating that watching Netflix is greener than breathing ― it received an overall D grade. Hulu fared even worse with an F, while Amazon Prime received a C. Out of streaming companies included, YouTube (owned by Google, whose energy use the organization praises) earned the best grade ― an A. Greenpeace evaluated companies on factors including energy mix, commitments to renewable energy, transparency on energy sources and advocacy for clean energy.  Netflix declined to offer any comment on the report.  The company’s poor score is due in large part to its reliance on Amazon Web Services, which Greenpeace criticized for its “almost complete” lack of transparency about its energy footprint, and for operating in states such as Virginia that rely heavily on nonrenewable power.

Social Media Makes Us Feel Inferior, So Here’s A Cheery Song About It!

Your social media accounts are often tiny windows into your own psyche. And while we try to project the best versions of ourselves to the world, that can have an adverse effect, as everyone believes their lives are inferior to the lives of their social media friends. Basically, everyone looks great and feels like crap. Writers Max Azulay and Alex Mullen  have backed their message with a bubbly tune, so it will be easier to hear. Because it’s important that you hear this. — This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms
